Two major tracks focus on industrial AI applications, with nearly 900 participants from 210 universities participating in the competition 17 participating teams swept the top three, with the first prize going to Shandong University and Shenzhen Vocational and Technical University Recently, the 2026 ABB Cup Intelligent Technology Innovation Competition, hosted by ABB China and supported by the Chinese Society of Automation, came to a successful conclusion. After intense competition in the preliminary and final rounds, 17 teams emerged victorious, taking the top three spots in both competitions. Among them, two participating teams from Shandong University and Shenzhen Vocational and Technical University respectively won first prizes in two sets of competition questions.

This competition closely follows the pulse of the "AI+" era, setting up two major tracks around the development needs of new quality productivity, introducing the innovation vitality of universities into real industrial scenes, cultivating new engineering talents with both innovative spirit and engineering practice ability, and continuously injecting new impetus into industrial upgrading. Since its launch on March 12th, the competition has attracted active attention and enthusiastic registration from teachers and students from numerous universities. 350 teams and nearly 900 people from 210 universities have registered to participate.
Dr. Zhang Nan, Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Automation, said, "This year is the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan, and the new industrialization urgently needs a large number of outstanding engineering reserve forces. In this competition, students faced real problems in the fields of three-dimensional warehousing optimization and industrial AI assistants, and presented brilliant solutions, fully demonstrating the purpose of the competition to promote learning and enhance abilities through learning, and also reflecting the important value of the integration of production and education in the cultivation of engineering talents. The Automation Society will continue to work together with ABB to build a bridge for talent growth and cultivate more young talents for the intelligent manufacturing industry
